Cookies & browser storage
Last updated: Draft — pending owner sign-off
AutoArchive uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage items. None of them are used for advertising, profiling or tracking you across other websites, and no advertising or analytics code is loaded.
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to work at all, so they are always present.
- Sign-in session — keeps you signed in and refreshes your session. Stored in your browser’s local storage by our authentication provider.
- Preview sign-in session — the same thing, handled slightly differently when the app is opened inside a preview window.
- Menu state (
sidebar_state) — a small cookie that remembers whether the side menu is open or closed.
Remembering your preferences
These make the app pleasant to use. They stay on your device, are never sent to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes them.
- The workspace you last had selected.
- Which navigation groups you collapsed.
- Whether you prefer documents as a list or as cards.
- That you dismissed the fleet setup prompt for a particular workspace.
- Whether you chose a personal or fleet account during sign-up (kept for that tab only).
- Unfinished forms, so a half-typed record survives a refresh (kept for that tab only).
- The list of documents still waiting to upload, so an interrupted upload can resume.
Advertising and tracking
There are no advertisements at launch and no advertising code is loaded. There is no behavioural analytics, no marketing pixel and no cross-site tracking cookie. Because we set no optional tracking technologies, there is no consent banner to click through.
Third parties involved
- Our cloud provider — sign-in, database and private file storage.
- Stripe — payments. Stripe is used on our servers; the payment page is Stripe’s own, and card details never reach us.
Our typefaces are served from AutoArchive itself, so your browser makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font service.
Marketing email
We do not send marketing email and there is no marketing sender. If we ever introduce it, it will need a separate, unticked opt-in and a one-click unsubscribe, and it will stay entirely separate from sign-in, security, billing and the reminders you asked for.
Managing what is stored
You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. Clearing the sign-in session simply signs you out; nothing in your archive is affected.
